Solitude Charters: Accommodations and Crew


Cruise in the Motor Vessel, "Dagan", a 52 ft, recently completely refurbished vessel. Enjoy all the comforts of home while watching the spectacular coastal scenery of B.C. and Alaska!

Delighful Accommodations

Tasteful, warm and cozy accommodations include 2 double staterooms with private washroom and shower, 1 family stateroom (for 4) with washroom/shower, and 4 single bunks with washroom/shower. There's plenty of hot water too.

We think of all the extras for you and provide linens, towels and even housecoats, slippers & hairdryers!

Accommodation for overnight trips is 8 persons, (four couples). For day trips, 12 persons.

The Dagan boasts a complete galley (kitchen), dining area and hearty meals! During the day, take in the scenery on the bow or the back deck or chat with Captain Head as she navigates. In the evening, relax in the saloon lounge, where we have a full entertainment system.

2 tenders for fishing and excursions; Fishing equipment; Kayaks.

The Crew

  • Captain: Lesley Head. 40 years experience on the water. Skippered charters for over 10 years. Licensed by Dept. of Transportation; Certified Naturalist; Certified Powerboat Instructor; Bridge Watchmans' certification.
  • Captain Head is an authorized provider for Transport Canada courses: MED A-3 (Marine Emergency Duties) and SVOP (Small Vessel Operator Proficiency), and examiner for PCOC (Pleasure Craft Operators Card - Canadian Law), licenses and VHF Licenses.
  • First Mate: Ian King. 40 years experience.
  • On occasion, we take on a chef/naturalist to help with the meals and excursions.

Instruction

The Captain is qualified to teach all courses listed above and many aspects of boating safety and handling. While you are on board you may wish to study for and challenge both the PCOC (Pleasure Craft Operator's Card) exam and the exam for a VHF license.
